You hold my arms down, I've been bad

Happiness is getting to ask the dj to play the song you want and having it blast from huge, kick ass speakers! *grin*

Very happy from BringYourOwnMusic at Home Club last night! I think it's a really cool idea! Check out the interpop blog here.

Thanks Shaun, for playing the MSTRKRFT remix of Metric! And thanks to Shaocong for coming with me and burning my BYOM playlist for me *smile* 1-2-1 got played from his playlist, and Benji from Eating Air was there *laugh* it was such a surreal night!

Here's the one from my playlist!

I fought the war
I fought the war
I fought the war
But the war won't stop for the love of god

I fought the war
I fought the war
But the war won

Monster hospital
Can you please release me?

You hold my hands down, I've been bad
You hold my arms down, I've been bad
I've been bad, I've been bad

I fought the war
I fought the war
But the war won

I fought the war
I fought the war
But the war won't stop for the love of god

I fought the war
I fought the war
But the war won't stop

Stop

Your name is the splinter inside me

Somehow I feel that Joshua Radin hides such melanchony under his soothing voice. How do you sound so sad and comforting at the same time? But I love how he sounds, especially in duets, where the voices complement so perfectly.

I should know who I am by now
I walk the record stands somehow
Thinking of winter
Your name is the splinter inside me

While I wait

And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you

But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake

The walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out Winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me

While I wait

I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes
And I miss you still

Joshua Radin | Winter

This is the first song where I heard his voice, it's from the soundtrack of The Last Kiss. I suppose it's a happy song, but it makes me sad.

Been up all night staring at you
Wondering what's on your mind
I've been this way with so many before
But this feels like the first time
You want the sunrise to go back to bed
I want to make you laugh

Mess up my bed with me
Kick off the covers I'm waiting
Every word you say I think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight

Happy to lay here, just happy to be here
I'm happy to know you
Play me a song, your newest one
Please leave your taste on my tongue
Paperweight on my back
Cover me like a blanket

Mess up my bed with me
Kick off the covers I'm waiting
Every word you say i think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight

And no need to worry
That's wastin time
And no need to wonder
What's been on my mind

It's you

Every word you say I think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight

And I give up
I let you win
You win cause i'm not counting

You made it back to sleep again
Wonder what you're dreaming

If you bury it deep, no one can find a thing

Drumbeats and strings - I was hooked from the start. I never knew they could be combined like this *smile* I like it a lot!

The pounding drums overpowering the beating of my heart, burying everything else with it, while I drift in the pulling strings.

So wonderful what a smile can hide
If the teeth shine bright and it's nice and wide
It's so magical all you can keep inside
If you bury it deep no one can find a thing, no.

Well come on, open wide, open up now
Don't you think it's time

To look back at that boy on his way to school
Such a heavy heart, such a heavy jewel
Hiding something that one day he'll sell

But now if no one shows, no one tells a thing, no.

Well come on love, open wide, open up now
Don't you think it's time

Now after all these years you are at last opening
Was it worth all that war just to win

So caught up in the speed of the days in your sin
Don't forget how the story begins, no.
Don't forget now

Now I'm seeing all your lovers and enemies
They've been turining their keys so full of need
All trying to see that jewel you keep
What makes it shine, what makes it mine
But I don't care, no.

Just come on now, open wide.
Open up now.
There's so much love for what you'll find

But what will you find!

Now after all these years you are at last opening
Was it worth all that war just to win

Well if it was can you take me back to where it begins
Come and take me back to where it begins
Come and take me back to where it begins
Come on, open wide and let some light in

Let us in

Patrick Wolf | Overture

I really wish I could stream this song but I can only upload it. Here's another song with drums, it's nice too, in a different way.

A cracked smile and a silent shout

My new music fix.

I like them - they're strange, and random, and strange. And the beats let me close my eyes and shake my head while I walk in pace. Sway your hips and keep the thoughts from forming meanings.

Moving in rhythm, the familiarity of artificiality.

I never knew this could happen to me
I know now fragility
I know there's people who I haven't told
I know of people who are getting old

Wish I could speak in just one sweep
What you are and what you mean to me
Instead I mumble randomly
You stand by and enlighten me

In a dream I lost my teeth again
Calling me woman and a half man
Yes in a dream all my teeth fell out
A cracked smile and a silent shout

If I explain it once thoroughly
He'll have you later 'cause it's never free
You were at the gigantic spree
I caught a glimpse now it haunts me
