You're 23, but how can that be?

Oh this must be the bestest birthday I've had *smile* yes, it was my birthday yesterday and I'm 23 now and it's so shameless to proclaim it like this but I'm so happy!! *wheeeeee*

I have the bestest friends and the bestest boyfriend and oh, I'm just so grateful for everything I have! *mew*

This is my favourite Stars song! It's not very appropriate because it's kind of strange and melancholic but a bit self indulgent, which I like!

Going going going going going going going going
Going going going going going going going gone

Still hooked on cellophane
Hanging 'round the mall, and all
Each penny numbs the pain
Sends you gently for the fall
I followed you last night
I saw you turn your lights out
I know it wasn't right
I watched in fear and doubt

It's gotten to be that way

Going, going, gone
What did you do today?
Going, going, gone

Look good in that red dress
I bet the boyfriend's happy
Your face is scarred with age
You're twenty-three but, how can that be?

Still hooked on cellophane
Killing time with Gin and lime
Each second numbs the pain
Love's just another rhyme

It's gotten to be that way
Going, going, gone
I'm scared but I'm okay
Going, going, gone

There's nowhere
To move on
There's nowhere
To move on

All I see, yeah yeah, all I see
All I see, yeah yeah, all I see
All I see, yeah yeah, all I see
All I see, yeah yeah, is me everywhere
It's me

The rain won't change my heart at all

I'm in such a happy romantic mood! *twirl* partly because of the recent engagement I heard of, and the recent wedding I attended I guess *laugh* and mainly because of so many other lovely things! *mew*

Oh and I found such a romantic song from Magnetic Fields! Which is so strange in a way because Stephen Merritt has positively the most depressing songs above love too (which I also like a lot!) *laugh*

But just listen to this and tell me, isn't it such a perfect proposal song?

Why would I stop loving you
A hundred years from now
It's only time
It's only time

What could stop this beating heart
Once it's made a vow
It's only time
It's only time

If rain won't change your mind
Let it fall
The rain won't change my heart at all

Lock this chain around my hand
Throw away the key
It's only time
It's only time

Years falling like grains of sand
Mean nothing to me
It's only time
It's only time

If snow won't change your mind
Let it fall
The snow won't change my heart
Not at all

I'll walk your lands
And swim your sea

Marry me
Marry me

And in your hands
I will be free

Marry me
Marry me

Why would I stop loving you
A hundred years from now

It's another perfect day

I really like this New Pornographers album!! The electric organ and the guitars make me so happy! I just want to be swung around! *grin*

Sometimes I think I can be really easy to please *laugh* even the littlest things amuse me! Oh but I'm so thankful for that, because sometimes it's the littlest things that matter, the littlest things that can make the day seem so perfect! *smile*

I think this is the very first of their songs I heard, and I still love it so much! Check out the videos under the media section on their website, here!

Exploding international, the scenes, the sounds
And famously the feeling that you can't squeeze 'round
While tearing off another page of loose change, outrage
It's another perfect day, until the night shows

Exploding international, the wind did howl
The sky above was thick with rings of smoke and clouds
And hanging on the bleeding end of conscious, who's this?
Was there anything I missed, as far as you know?
As far as you know?

Was it all for swinging you around?
All for swinging you around?

Exploding international, the sun, the sights
The moments you are viewing through a beam of light
Propel you through the golden age, we crash-land the first page
On a crumbling world stage, into the front rows
Into the front rows

I'm all for swinging you around
All for swinging you around

And off your feet
All the love you found
Spinning 'round

We're twisting incognito with no time, can't talk
Can't tell if this is fantasy or culture shock
Or remnants of a golden age that's near mint unplayed
Or a welcome overstayed beneath the light show
Beneath the light show

All for swinging you around

Choo choo choo choo beep beep

Oh this is SUCH a fun album to have!! *laugh* with the incomprehensible lyrics, the oddly harmonic melodies and the interchangable album covers! And it does remind me so of Katamari!! *wheeee*

The people people from the side to side

Kidz Are So Small

If I were a man and you a dog
If I were man and you a dog
I throw a stick for you

If I were dog and you a man
I throw a fit for you

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ohhhh
Potato chipu, potato chipu, potatao chipu

My work is so hard

Well, not really actually, it's only hard ever so often *laugh* but anyway, I really do like my job a lot! *grin* especially so on days where I feel like I'm reading an encyclopedia for a living. I mean some of the things I read about are really amazing, I would've never thought of the stuff they did! Which is why I'm not in research I guess *laugh*

My grandfather gave me his old Sam Cooke tape that I used to listen to so much when I was a kid. The only problem now is that I can't find my old cassette tape player, and I can't decide if I should get the cd instead, or in this case, the vinyl perhaps *laugh* Here's is my favourite Sam Cooke song, it's such a great song!

I hear something saying

Well, don't you know
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they're singing

Well, don't you know
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they work so hard
Till the sun is going down
Working on the highways and byways
And wearing, wearing a frown
You hear them moaning their lives away
Then you hear somebody say

That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

Can't ya hear them singing
Mm, I'm going home one of these days
I'm going home see my woman
Whom I love so dear
But meanwhile I got to work right here

Well, don't you know
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they're singing
Mmm,
my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my work is so hard
Give me water, I'm thirsty
My work is so hard

Here's another one that's really sweet *smile*

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took

But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonometry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for

But I do know that one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now i don't claim to be an "A" student
But I'm trying to be
So maybe by being an "A" student baby
I can win your love for me

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took

But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be

I like it my way with no limitations

I would like to live my life my way, with no limitations, but it's so hard for me to. I guess it's a matter of how badly I want it perhaps? But I do envy those who can!

Come back Margaret he wants to adore you
Come back Margaret I’d like to explore you
Can’t you see the tears in my eyes
With love for him I disguise

I like the free days with no expectations
I like it my way with no limitation
Still you see there are tears in my eyes
With love for him I despise

Darling you will always be around
Whether my mood’s up or if it’s down
In dreams I try to take you far away
But you never stay
No you never stay
No you never stay

I'm not the type to put up a fight

I really don't like conflicts. So sometimes I really don't understand why I would purposely pick a fight and cause so much agitation. What's the point of pointing something out, just to prove a point? *sigh*

I can't remember if I used to fight for what I want, or didn't want. I don't remember being a doormat, but now I've become so pliable, so easily manipulated. It's good in a way because everyone thinks you're nice. But I don't know if that's all I want to be, nice.

Amy Millan is nice *laugh* I like her voice. Hear her on her myspace site, here.

Your eyes are like burned-out headlights
A little thunder in the night
I'm losin' you

You're walking around like you live in a graveyard

Gets you the one with the cards

I'm losin' you

I guess I'll go

And I'll lock the door behind me
What's it for

When you've only got time you gotta leave behind?

You nod and smile like a lying stranger

When I ask if you're doing all right

I'm losin' you

And underneath the hungry silence

Fear is eatin' through

I'm losin' you

I'm not the kind to beat you from behind

I'm not the kind to tell you you've been blind

I'm not the type to put up a fight

Your eyes are like burned-out headlights

A little thunder in the night

I'm losin' you

I always thought you were the one

I guess I still do

But I'm losin' you

And I'm losin' you
I'm losin' you
